Why is this important?
The growing importance of renewable energy sources means that we need systems to help us better manage their variable production. Energy storage is the answer to these needs – it stabilises the grid, improves energy security and supports the energy transition in Poland.
Who is supporting this?
The programme is organised by the National Fund for Environmental Protection and Water Management (NFOŚiGW). As much as £4 billion has been allocated for investments in energy storage! This is an opportunity worth taking advantage of.
What can you gain?
Companies can count on:
- subsidies of up to 65% of eligible costs,
- preferential loans — favourable financing terms.
Who is it for?
The programme is aimed at:
- micro, small and medium-sized enterprises,
- large enterprises.
If you are planning to build an energy storage facility with a capacity of at least 2 MW and a capacity of at least 4 MWh, you are a potential beneficiary. The storage facility must be connected to the distribution network. Importantly, you can also achieve this capacity in the form of several smaller units (e.g. 2 x 2 MWh or 4 x 1 MWh).
What do you need?
To apply:
- you must have the right to dispose of the property on which the storage facility will be built,
- you must have the conditions for connection to the power grid – already at the stage of submitting the application.
What can the funding be used for?
Both new investments and the expansion of existing storage facilities will be supported. The funding will cover, among other things:
- project documentation,
- land purchase,
- construction of the storage facility and connections (which must be your property at the end of the project),
- accompanying infrastructure,
- tests, technical acceptance, certificates,
- project management,
- intangible assets (e.g. licences, know-how).
